Dealing with Burdens

Content
I have noticed that there are quite a few of us that have been struggling lately. We have these burdens that are weighing us down. When they get to be too much, we find ourselves feeling burnt out and at our limit. The stress stacks up and we start to feel run down and as if we can’t possibly take much more.
It doesn’t have to be this way. We have been told in the Bible to put our struggles at Jesus’ feet. These could be your burdens or those of a friend who’s been struggling. I have learned that handing these things over to Him can help ease the strain. After all, it’s not the burdens that wear us down, it’s how we carry them. It’s not what you’re going through that’s tough, it’s how you are going through it.
I've noticed a big difference when I do one little thing in the morning. Rather than reaching for the cell phone or turning on the tv, I take a few minutes to be with Jesus. I ask him to take away any burdens I have been carrying. I feel grateful for all the amazing things I have in my life and then I pass off all the things that I don’t know what to do with. All the stresses and strains that have built up get handed off to Him so that He can deal with them as He sees fit.
On the days I do this, I can tell a difference. It’s not some big dramatic shift, but it’s almost as though I can see things differently. I have a shift in perspective. So I encourage you, get up a little earlier and give yourself and your day to God. Let Him know how extremely grateful you are for all the things in your life. Even if you don’t realize it, there are many things that may seem like struggles that are still blessings. They are teaching you a lesson.
Be grateful for all of your experiences and the ability to learn from all of it.
Once you start handing your troubles over to Jesus, let Him know that you need Him. Tell him these things are wearing you down and let Him know you could really use his help with these things. You are not designed to shoulder these burdens alone. You were designed to share them with Him. He wants to help you with your troubles, all you have to do is ask. Ask Him to take these things and help you deal with them in the best way possible. He wants to help, He’s just waiting for you to ask for His assistance.
Everyone has their own burdens and struggles they are dealing with, even if you can’t see them. You can tell those who are making the most of their situation because they will still smile through them. They are keeping things in perspective. Others let them weigh them down. They haven’t handed off their burdens, they are too busy trying to shoulder them all alone. Don’t be that kind of person. Hand your troubles to Jesus and let Him do the leading and guiding.
