Restoration [Part Two]

Content
Last week we began our three-part series of Restoration, discussing how Acknowledgment of our struggles is the first step to healing and overall freedom. We continue today, with part two, by discussing Acceptance.
We need to accept that we cannot do this life alone. Not for the simple fact that we need the company, but for the affirmation and fulfillment we desire, that lifts our spirits when we are feeling low; to keep us moving forward. Without it, we deplete.
Who should it come from?
Simple facts: We know this life is better with friends; peers, people that ‘get you’. In our perfect world, we would be surrounded by countless people to call up on a rainy (or sun shining) day, and effortlessly fall into endless laughter and fun. We can agree it would be the best way to cast away stress, and put aside ‘the struggle’, at least for 24 hours. It’s no question we know we need people; that support system. We so desire it.
Hard facts: People [alone] will fail you.
Not to bruise anyone’s ego, but we - the human race - are weak. We cannot simply depend on ‘people alone’ to carry us and our burdens. Even in scripture, humans are often referred to as sheep. SHEEP. Quite possibly the most defenseless animal on earth. But God knew that when He created them, which is why He provided them a shepherd. Without one, they would wander; helpless and defenseless. They need their shepherd to lead them and protect them. As do we. We need our Shepherd. {Psalm 23:1}. When we choose to believe and accept God as our leader, we begin receiving that affirmation and fulfillment beyond all expectations. Our God is never failing.
Though with that said, He still provides us with community and fellowship to help us in our earthly battles. He knows we need people, but He brings us His people. As I said earlier, people [alone] will fail you. But people [with God] will carry you.
“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." - Matthew 18:20
In order to take that step into freedom, we must first acknowledge our struggles at hand and align our hearts to ACCEPT help from God, and the people He provides for us.
