Stewardship with Brock Johnson

In your life, everything is your responsibility. This is your stewardship. Many times, people think this only relates to money, but it’s also your influence and impact on the world and those around you. You are also responsible for information that you learn and what you do with it. Learned information is useless if you don’t apply it.
Why even bother learning it if you have no intention of actually using it?
I was at an event recently, and I was struck with how everyone will attend these things and get extremely fired up, but once we get home, the information doesn’t necessarily get used. It’s important that we go home and do something with that information. It’s our stewardship to put it to good use to grow and help others grow, as well. You shouldn’t squander what you are given, it’s when you share and use what you are given that great things begin to happen.
There is a story in the bible about a man that gave one man 5 coins, another 2 and the last, 1 coin. After some time, the first came back and told him that he took those 5 coins and turned them into 10. The second came back and told him that he turned those 2 coins into 4. The last man, however, returned with the one coin. He explained that he knew that the one coin was special, so he buried it to keep it safe. This disappointed the man that gave him the one coin. He was given something and rather than use it, he squandered it. Burying it in the dirt does nobody any good. Sure it’s kept safe, but in the end what good is that, really?
The point is, you are given things (EVERYTHING) by God. These may be talents, money, anything. You need to do something with that. Use it to make it even bigger and better and you will get more in return. It can be scary, but it’s so important to put yourself out there and help. You need to have hope.
Yes, things will be a struggle but that’s how you learn. That’s how you grow!
And it’s not so much about struggling but struggling well. Learn to use the struggle and not let it pull you down.
Another thing to keep in mind is how well you are taking care of the small things in your life. If you want 10 new clients, it’s important to do well with the 1 or 2 you already have. If you have a small house but are dreaming of a bigger one, take care of what you have and you will be rewarded.
Don’t focus on why you aren’t getting what you want, focus on taking care of the things you already have.
You need to run your own race. You aren’t competing with anyone else but yourself. You should be doing what you can with the things you have been given. Spread your blessings and you will be blessed in return.
Listen to Brock Johnson and I talk all about stewardship at a live event from this year and what that means for you on a personal and professional level. If things haven’t been working out so well for you we give some insight as to why that may be.
